02
Certification is mandatory

A product may be marketed or exported as organic under NPOP only if it carries valid certification from an authorized Certification Body. No certification, no logo — without exception.

03
The logo belongs to the Government of India

The trademark "India Organic" is the exclusive property of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. Users receive only a revocable license to use it. Ownership is never transferred, under any circumstance.

04
Use only on certified products

The logo may only appear on products covered by the certification scope, approved packaging, and promotional or advertising material related to certified products. It cannot appear on any uncertified product.

05
Logo placement requires approval

The manner of display — position, size, and context on packaging — must be approved by the Certification Body beforehand. The logo must be clearly visible and restricted to product categories covered by the active license.

A black-and-white version of the logo is permitted only as a narrow exception. All four conditions below must be satisfied simultaneously:

All conditions required
